Building great things together
Everything we do at [Confidential Client] is designed to give our customers the best possible experience.
Digital advertising should be no different. Ad Platforms does everything it can to follow signals
that come straight from customers. Personal relevance guides us, not impersonal targeting.
The result is a great experience, not one interrupted by ads. By working to understand their true
intent and giving them more control over their experience, we give customers the respect they
deserve. It’s a value we share with the developers, marketers, and publishers who choose us. By
respecting our customers, we’re also respecting theirs. Because no matter your goal, you can’t
go wrong by treating people right.
By showing that respecting user privacy, doesn’t need to cost advertisers new customers,
[Confidential Client] can redefine the advertising model. A model where one side doesn’t need to lose for the
other to win.
Metrics that matter
At [Confidential Client] Ad Platforms, it’s important for us to measure what matters. These metrics, measured
at an organization-wide level, help us understand whether our ad product is easy to use and
provides value to publishers.

Build Iteratively
Don’t reinvent the wheel. If it exists,
consume as is. If it’s not ready for use,
collaborate and build improvements.
Otherwise, create it.
Own what you build. Maintain what you
create through production with speed and
agility. A system of observability and
diagnosability to ensure quality code and
products.
Use frequent communication and active
listening to form a relationship with and
understanding of the customer to deliver
a great experience.
Take accountability for outcomes and
cultivate a mindset of empowerment.
Seek improvements, find resolutions,
and collaborate with others to address
the issue and create value.
Simple code is well designed, organized
and readable. Apply simplicity not only in
code, but when debugging.
We learn from each other, which is why
we promote a culture of openness to
share views, opinions, doubts, and
questions. Feedback is a gift.
Our work has impacts across the world.
From curating processes to collaborating
with individuals across countries, we
need to work together as a global team.
Develop trustworthy and secure

Our design decisions and actions create
a lasting impact. Strive for consistency in

And that’s where you come in.
Ads are actually the largest monetization source for content creators, globally. So in order for us
to fully support media creators, and to deliver content that people love, we need to have a stake
in advertising. Advertising that’s valued, for how it benefits people, not for what it extracts from
them.
Our approach to advertising is consistent with [Confidential Client]’s approach to every other market we enter:
we find ways to do it differently, and better. We built an advertising platform that works better for
everyone—by helping customers find what they’re looking for, we help advertisers find success.
Our technology and services power advertising in [Confidential Client] News and Search Ads in App Marketplace.
Our work is based on intelligent, real-time, and trusted application of data, and enable us to
present [Confidential Client]’s customers with the products and services they’re going to love.

Ensure you have a comprehensive list of disclosures required for projects, software access, and
hardware access to do your work, and then get disclosed on all of them promptly.
Confidentiality is crucial at [Confidential Client]. Make sure you ensure your Manager outlines ALL of the
required disclosures for your project, which can include specific disclosures for hardware and
software as well.
Ensuring you have all of your required disclosures complete will avoid delays accessing key
tools and databases. If you have questions about confidentiality and disclosure policies, then
please reference this
link
.
Install required tools such as GitHub using references and links in the
tools section
.
There are general tools that all Ad Platforms Engineers utilize, and those are outlined within the
tools and resources section
of the portal.
That section provides an outline of what the tool is and how to set it up on your laptop. If you are
waiting for team specific instructions protected by disclosure, then you can save time upfront by
completing the general setup for this tools. For example, you can submit requests for Wiki
access and GitHub access, so you have them ready for completing the team specific
instructions when you receive them.
Request all disclosure protected information from your manager (software, hardware, private
repos, private communication channels, etc.)
There are tools, repos, communication channels, and a host of other information that managers
can only provide once you have your necessary disclosures complete. Once they are complete,
ensure you ask your manager for all of this information, so you can continue requesting the
appropriate access and completing environment setup instructions.
Managers will have this information documented, but it helps to ensure you are asking for all the
required information to avoid delays.
